JULIE PIE

We at BartCook are honored to have this recipe from Julie Hiatt Steele! Thank you Julie!
Julie writes:

Do you remember the group "CHICAGO"? In the seventies they recorded at the Caribou Ranch in Colorado. A friend of mine (Jane Thoburn, Denison University, 1967, KKG sister) was responsible for food service during that era. It seemed that CHICAGO band members had a sweet tooth collectively and, in fact, had little interest in the rest of the menu... Jane offered a chocolate pie that had been my Mother's recipe and it became that group's staple diet. She named it "Julie Pie."

JULIE PIE

one graham cracker crust
1 eight oz. pkg. chocolate chips
2 Tbs. sugar
3 Tbs. milk
4 eggs

Over low heat, combine and melt together: chips, sugar, and milk. Add, ONE AT A TIME, 4 eggs. Beat THOROUGHLY after each additional egg. Pour into baked graham cracker crust, refrigerate until firm. (mixture will appear very thin initially, is VERY rich, and can be garnished with piped whipping cream or shaved chocolate). ENJOY!
